Priti Patel pledged to crack down on ‘counter-terrorist offenders’ and people are confused

"We are going to announce new measures tomorrow that will deal with the fundamentals of counter-terrorist offenders."

Was #PritiPatel just talking about people committing "anti-terrorism’ offences? I know it’s just words and it’s early but politics is words and early is the job.

Putting aside the curious concept of “counter-terrorist offenders”, it’s worth pointing out that changes already introduced in the Counter-Terrorism and Border Security Act 2019 mean that, if he were sentenced today, Sudesh Amman would not be automatically released early. https://t.co/BLpovnUW3g
