Nish Kumar had the best response to Boris Johnson’s weird phone pocketing moment
You’ve probably seen by now that moment when Boris Johnson took ITV News reporter Joe Pike’s phone and put it in his pocket rather than look at a picture of an ill 4 y/o boy lying on a hospital floor.
But just in case you haven’t …
Tried to show @BorisJohnson the picture of Jack Williment-Barr. The 4-year-old with suspected pneumonia forced to lie on a pile of coats on the floor of a Leeds hospital.

And there has been no end of outraged and/or flabbergasted responses, as you might imagine.
"You've refused to see the photo, you've taken my phone & put it in your pocket Prime Minister" is now my most memorable interviewer's remark of the campaign. https://t.co/nRJR4EwXav

Can there be a clearer demonstration of the Tories trying to hide the reality of the NHS from us than Johnson grabbing a phone with a photo of a 4-year old forced to sleep on an A&E floor and trying to hide it?
And Johnson knows it. Look at his panicked look at the end. https://t.co/hyriCT9mi1— David Schneider (@davidschneider) December 9, 2019

Terry Pratchett used to write (comically) that when those with privilege were faced with something that they disapproved off, they would simply erase it from their reality. He mostly meant it figuratively but I never thought Iād see a *literal* example in real life. Stunned. https://t.co/Z7rQ1WIEyA

Unbelievable reaction. The man doesn't seem to have any compassionate capacity at all. https://t.co/gRx5LGDR4Q

But the best response came from Nish Kumar who said this.
I hope this gets the same level of blanket coverage and media conversation as me having one roll thrown at me. https://t.co/5KN41kwZHE

And if you don’t know what Nish is talking about, it was that unfortunate Lord’s Taverners’ charity gig where the audience didn’t appreciate his jokes.
In my defence, it was only one bread roll and it missed me

Let’s wait and see just how much coverage it gets …
