People are wondering why Brendan Gleeson keeps saying ‘sarcastic’ in Lake Placid and it’s gone wildly viral
It’s been a while since we’ve seen Lake Placid, the 1999 comedy horror movie starring Bill Pullman, Bridget Fonda, Brendan Gleeson and many others, and now we really, really want to watch it again.
We mention it because this particular scene – three scenes, actually – have been going viral on Twitter after @TheWolfman pointed out this.

He’s making a point to the screenwriter. Actors don’t like parentheticals ie being told how to deliver a line. Especially the really good ones

I think he’s using sarcastic as a noun being modified by comedian. Like he’s cataloging different varieties of sarcasm and the people that employ them.

Doesn’t his character earlier mention the fish and game people liking to give one word sarcastic answers — I think he is just continuing that reference in these clips, hence the “a whole sentence, sarcastic”

Those are the lines. Earlier in the movie, he says the fish and game ppl are sarcastic. Every time Bill Pullman talks he’s saying what kind of sarcastic it was
