The government wants to let people drive lorries without a specialist test – 11 killer reactions

The Secretary of State for Transport, Grant Shapps, has shared an article on the government’s hopes to rewind back to 1996, when drivers didn’t need to take an extra test to drive 7.5 ton vehicles.

At least it’s not like they’re scrapping radioactivity rules for food or anything.

The move is intended to address the shortage of lorry drivers, which has added to supply chain woes, but not everyone was convinced it would be safe.
