You’d have got long odds on Liz Truss becoming the country’s next prime minister a few years back but that is the situation we may now find ourselves in.
Truss will face off with Rishi Sunak in the final two of the Tory party leadership contest which will now be decided by around 200,000 Conservative members across the country.
