James O’Brien on the government’s care home ‘protective ring’ is a devastating 2 minute listen
Matt Hancock might have to rewrite one of the chapters of his memoirs after the High Court today ruled that the government’s policy towards care homes at the start of the Covid pandemic was illegal.
The former health secretary and the government went on endlessly about the ‘protective ring’ they were throwing around the country’s most vulnerable residents.
But the High Court said today that the policy of not isolating people discharged from hospital to care homes was ‘irrational’.
