Comeback of the week

Late contender for comeback of the week is surely this, an exchange on Twitter which began with this spectacular (and terrifying) picture of an unexploded missile.

Boom. Not the missile, thank goodness.

‘Having lived in a house with a similar set up, it was because the original house was too small for a bathroom and too old to have a toilet.

But when the house was expanded to have a separate bathroom with a toilet, the old sink in the kitchen that was used for shaving, makeup and tooth brushing was just left in place.

‘But this joke is a much better reply.’

‘Russia gonna start sweating when they hear about Ukrainian clairvoyants.’

It also sparked something of a debate.

‘Not a missle, its a thruster from a missle

‘Still sucks tho.’

‘Isn’t a missile just an object lobbed at a trajectory? Seems like a missile.’

‘Yeah, two different definitions for the same word. Technically any flying object is a missile, but when referring to war zones people usually don’t refer to things other than self propelled weapons as missiles.

‘But technically a rock can be a missile. But then some people only refer to the warhead as a missile for some reason.’

We’re with this person.

‘For sure. jussayin if a rocket shaped object was launched into my kitchen i wouldn’t be splitting hairs, personally.’

And if it reminded you of this from back in the day, you weren’t the only one.
