Marjorie Taylor Greene’s attempted takedown blew up in her face and it’s perfect

Those most outspoken of outspoken Republicans, Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert, appear locked in their very own arms race when it comes to comedy self-owns.

Just last month there was Greene’s reference to the ‘Gazpacho police’, then earlier this week Boebert outdid her by inventing the new rank of ‘Lieutenant Corporal’.

Greene has just nudged back in front, however, with this attempted takedown of conservative commentator Bill Kristol that blew up in her face due to a most unfortunate schoolboy error.

It began when Greene said this about President Joe Biden and the United States’ response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Here’s what Bill Kristol had to say, suggesting Greene was ‘recommending betting against America’.

Greene’s response wasn’t the zinger she thought it was though.

Presumably she meant ‘commander in chief’ (oh, and it’s ‘you’re’, not ‘your’ while we’re at it).

And the mockery came thick and fast.
