A Tory MP ‘supported’ the PM by comparing him to a serial killer -12 deadly takedowns
In case you missed it, Prime Minister’s Questions in the House of Commons on Wednesday was quite the drama.
A Conservative MP, Christian Wakeford, crossed the floor to join Labour, seating himself just behind Keir Starmer at the start of proceedings. Boris Johnson failed to address Partygate in any acceptable way, but deflected by announcing the effective end of most Covid measures. And David Davis stood up and told Johnson to resign.

Despite the words of David Davis, Johnson clearly had a great many supporters – at least for the time being.
The Tory MP for Cleethorpes, Martin Vickers, explained why angry MPs should pause their calls for the PM to leave, by *checks notes* comparing him to a serial killer.

"even a serial killer gets his day in court."

“Thanks for the lifebuoy, Martin. Is it supposed to be made of concrete?”
Tweeters had a lot to say about it.
Always think it's a bad sign when people defending you are comparing you to a serial killer https://t.co/Hg8ajt4foR

"Right then. We need something to deflect from the defection and calls for the PM's resignation"
Vickers: "I've got the perfect line"

Is it normal in courts to accept evidence about a serial killer which has been gathered by the serial killer's mate?

Would be great to one day have a prime minister you can defend without reference to the legal rights of serial killers https://t.co/8R14tSwhkh
