Priti Patel just backed Boris Johnson and the best riposte came from … Priti Patel
Home Secretary Priti Patel has thrown her support behind embattled prime minister Boris Johnson, saying he’d given his ‘heartfelt apologies’ and ‘taken responsibility’ for attending a boozy party in the gardens of 10 Downing Street.
Here’s what she had to say on a Conservative WhatsApp group.

And it prompted no end of responses as you might imagine, but the best riposte surely came from Patel herself, who had this to say on Sky News at the height of lockdown.

Couldn’t put it better ourselves, Home Secretary.
The clip went viral today and here are just a few of the things people saying about it.
Sept 2020 Priti Patel said she’d call police to report neighbours holding parties.
Today she’s defending Boris Johnson after he admitted doing just that.
