Guy invites his friends on honeymoon before he asks his fiancee and the internet spoke as one

Over on the subReddit ‘Am I The Asshole’ people share real life – well, mostly real life – stories in the hope of finding out whether they’ve done the right thing or not.

And this guy’s tale has just gone viral, a groom-to-be who thought it was a good idea to ask his friends along on his honeymoon. Without checking in with his fiancee first.

And to no-one’s great surprise it turned out it wasn’t such a great idea after all …

And the internet spoke as one.

‘What a guy! He’s going to let his new bride tag along for a guy’s weekend away – she’s so lucky.’

“She can even ask a few of her friends”. How considerate!’

‘In fact, why not just send her and her friends to a different resort in a location they’ve always dreamed about!’

‘I have actually been on a group honeymoon and while it was great fun, it was a joint decision of the bride and groom as an alternative to a big expensive wedding, not a vague afterthought of the groom because he wanted to have his cake and eat it too. How hard is it to understand that both people need to be on board for something like this?’

“I thought it would be more fun if we could joke and fool around”

‘FOR WHO? I’m sure your new wife would love to sit and listen to you guys joke about sports, work, and college days. So romantic! I’d choose that over one on one time with my spouse any day! /s

‘God what a moron!’

To conclude, this.

‘Well if I were the bride he could invite them. Because I wouldn’t be going. So he’d probably need the company.’
