Boris Johnson’s ‘Partygate’ investigator allegedly hosted one of them – only 9 responses you need
You’ll remember a short while ago Boris Johnson appointed the country’s leading civil servant to investigate all those alleged lockdown-breaking parties at Downing Street.
Well now Simon Case will no longer be doing the investigating, after claims emerged that he had hosted an event himself over the same period.
And if ever one development summed up the state of where we are right now, this is surely it.
+UPDATE+
The Cabinet Secretary – Simon Case – who is investigating lockdown-breaking parties held at Downing Street last December…
…had 2 lockdown-breaking parties in his office last December.

Well, only allegations at the moment but we’re sure the investigation will reveal all, right? Anyone?
If only someone could have seen this coming.
No10 a couple of weeks ago, when asked to confirm Simon Case wasn’t personally compromised on the matter of Downing Street parties: “I think you can be assured that due diligence has been followed on that.”

Here’s the story so far, just in case you’re in need of a recap.
To summarise past fortnight:
– Mirror alleges Xmas Party in No 10
– No 10 denies it
– ITV News shows staff laughing about party
– PM asks Simon Case to investigate
– Multiple other parties alleged
– PM continues to deny rules broken
– Simon Case accused of having party

And these are surely the only jokes you need.

It's almost as if we all new Simon Case was compromised from the very beginning. It's almost as if literally everyone warned that this would happen. I'm expecting them to announce Stanley Johnson to step in to the investigation role.
