Over on Twitter there’s a rather fabulous account called ‘Conservative Self-Owns’ – @ConSelfOwns – which, as the name suggests, features right-leaning types making exhibitions of themselves on Twitter and elsewhere.
Just in case that’s not already clear, it kicks off with a handy definition: ‘Self-owned – a plan that rebounds adversely on the originator; has the opposite effect to what was intended, creating public humiliation.’
