Taken last week and #notmycat. Spent ages trying to gently shoo it out (I didn’t want to accidentally lock it in) but was roundly ignored. In the end I had to pick it up and physically eject it. It was *affronted*. pic.twitter.com/PN2guXzNsP

Affronted is exactly the term. I have a visiting cat who makes himself very comfortable on an armchair. If I approach him with a plan to move him, he looks at me as if to say, “Yes?” He also sneaks through the back window, but he is very cute. pic.twitter.com/CBOPthhFOI

Once got a note in our mailbox from a neighbour who fed strays about a cat who was “very sweet and friendly” and always seemed to be desperately starving so she must need a home for winter. It was our cat, she was usually very mean, and she was on a diet. Ms Muffin herself: pic.twitter.com/0kyu0iSISl

We had a neighbour who came to the house to say they were moving and could they take our cat with them as their daughter really liked her and used to feed her. They were quite miffed when my husband told them there was no way we would give them our daughter’s cat.

This is Beau. He was our neighbours cat. He used to come in through an open window and we’d wake up with him at the end of the bed. One day he has a collar on. I spoke to the neighbours and they hadn’t put it on him either…so god knows how many others people he was visiting pic.twitter.com/defw0lLe5k

These were the next door neighbour’s cats. Once the neighbours had gone to work each day, they’d be meowing outside the back door to come in here! Very affectionate pair, and the neighbour could rest in the knowledge that they knew the cats were always safe and never far away! pic.twitter.com/QekT4FeHRb

To conclude …
A friend of mine once told me that there are more ‘cat owners’ than cats in this country.
