Marvel’s Black Panther is widely considered to be a groundbreaking piece of cinema in terms of black culture, with a largely black cast, including powerful roles for women and a society-wide appeal.

The film broke box-office records, was nominated for several Oscars, and won three. It is, however, very obviously a fantasy film, based on Marvel comics and aimed at the entertainment market, rather than being educational.

One man wasn’t happy with those production choices – he was after a history documentary, by the look of things, and that’s not Marvel’s bag.

There’s room for both of those things, just not from Marvel.

These four people had a point to make, and they made it well.
