PG Tips reached out to Yorkshire Tea and it gave people a warm feeling
The good people of Yorkshire Tea have found themselves at something of a Twitter storm these last few days, as you can’t possibly have failed to have noticed.
First the chancellor of the exchequer tweeted a photo of himself next to a giant bag of the stuff, prompting unfounded allegations of unfortunate political allegiances …
So it's been a rough weekend.
On Friday, the Chancellor shared a photo of our tea. Politicians do that sometimes (Jeremy Corbyn did it in 2017). We weren't asked or involved – and we said so the same day. Lots of people got angry with us all the same. pic.twitter.com/7uVmKDf7Jd

… And then a woman called Sue just wouldn’t stop going on about it sending Yorkshire Tea viral on Twitter with this supremely British takedown.
Sue, you're shouting at tea.
Please do look after yourself and try to be kind to others. We're going to mute you now.

Anyway, there was light among the gloom, when PG Tips did this.
Just wanted to let you know that I’m here for you. DM me if you fancy a cuppa ❤️ From one social media manager to another #cuppastogether

It was clearly appreciated.
If we can enjoy a nice cup of tea and a sit down together, there's hope for politics yet! Love and respect to all at PG from Yorkshire Tea HQ.

This is nice, although I worry it's going to go off when each of them says what brand of tea they would prefer for this cuppa. https://t.co/nq9YfAkacz
