A NatWest hole-in-the-wall in Ilkeston is a top-rated TripAdvisor destination

A cash dispenser at a branch of NatWest in Ilkeston has become an unlikely hit on the review site, TripAdvisor. The description given of the “attraction” is –

A one of a kind architectural masterpiece that draws visitors from near and far. Children love the novelty of this sight [sic]. A genuine landmark and Ilkeston institution.

The bank’s “hole-in-the-wall” is adjacent to an actual hole in a wall, probably making it unique among cash dispensers.

The NatWest Hole, as it’s named on TripAdvisor, has a 90 per cent “excellent” rating, which is better than the Tower of London, Alton Towers, and even Disneyland, California.

These are a few of the glowing reviews that have made Ilkeston NatWest’s hole-in-the-wall one of the UK’s top attractions – statistically, at least.

Not everybody could heap praise upon the hole, however, as serious health and safety concerns reared their ugly head.

That would never happen at Disneyland.
