Someone tried to get translation work done dirt cheap – with added racism

It’s bad enough that some people don’t appreciate the value of someone’s labour, but when they throw racism into the mix as well, that global extinction starts to look a little more welcome.

Over on the r/choosingbeggars subreddit, someone called madmoons shared this conversation that slides swiftly downhill, and just keeps going.

Trigger warning for racist language.

It started off like a normal word-of-mouth recommendation and request.

After the link was sent, the interpreter gave a very reasonable estimate, but it didn’t go down well.

The choosing beggar tried the odd tactic of trying to haggle while accusing the other person of rudeness.

When the reverse charm offensive didn’t work, they stooped even lower with an outright racist attack. So classy.

And this person is trying to reach out to the Chinese market. We can’t see that going horribly wrong at all.

As Smgth remarked,

Damn Chinese people and their…shuffles deck…wanting to receive fair compensation for services rendered.
