Jake Humphrey ribbed Martin Keown for turning up late and he went full David Brent
A moment of excruciating awkwardness on BT Sport just now when presenter Jake Humphrey ribbed former Arsenal footballer turned pundit Martin Keown for turning up late.
And he probably wishes he hadn’t because Keown wasn’t taking it – and went full David Brent.
Martin Keown going full David Brent on BT there. Took that well.

Martin Keown with one of the most awkward live tv moments I’ve ever seen there when the pundits were joking on giving him grief for being late and he goes “someone jumped in front of my train what was I meant to do”
😳 My word

BT bloke (Humphreys?) takes a little dig at Martin Keown for being late to the studio.
Keown: “Somebody jumped in front of a train. What was I to do?
“I didn’t want to say that by the way”

The pair have a bit of history, by all accounts. Listen to this.

And earlier Humphrey had joked about Keown in his absence.
“He has given us an excuse that he is stuck on the train, but he has probably gone Christmas shopping! There will be one man who will be super stressed and not at work when he should be, that is Martin Keown.
“He is probably watching on the app as we speak, in which case: Martin, come on mate, get yourself to work and we’ll get you on the set as soon as you arrive.”
