A heavily pregnant woman I saw standing in the doorway of a church (was raining heavily) at 7.30am, eating a chocolate orange in the same way one would eat an apple.

The girl who kindly let me puke into her (empty) Burger King bag on the last train home after my office Christmas party ten years ago. She was also very concerned about me walking home alone and asked me to text her. And her name was MARY! It was a Christmas miracle.

My previous greyhound was running on an isolated beach in Connemara, tripped, fell and broke her neck. While I’m in a small carpark bawling over the body of my dead dog who’s not even cold yet in the boot of my car, a woman walks up and says “you can get another dog” 🤷🏻♀️ https://t.co/HYWZu3pU0v

The homeless man I saw sleeping under a bridge when I was maybe six. My family and I were coming back from a warm theatre into a warm car to take us back to a warm house. I didn't know life could treat people like that until that moment.

A very pissed woman I met on the last train out of Marylebone one night in the mid 90s, swore she was Joanna Lumley's next door neighbour and was horrified to learn she was half way to Birmingham. She stormed off to 'sort the driver out' and was never seen again 🤷♂️

Aislinn O’Loughlin’s stranger story went in a different direction.
Not sure if this counts but, for a year, I knew I'd ALWAYS remember the cute funny guy I chatted to as we both recovered from donating blood. Literally filed it in my brain under 'wonderful random encounters'. Then I bumped into him again – now we're together 18yrs, w/ 3 kids 🙂

That’s a rom-com waiting to be written; they should call it ‘B Positive’.
