Richard Osman had the best idea if Boris Johnson ducks Andrew Neil’s interview
It looks increasingly likely that Boris Johnson will duck out of an interview with Andrew Neil on BBC1, avoiding the sort of rigorous going over that befell both Jeremy Corbyn and Nicola Sturgeon.
People aren’t very happy about it, as you might imagine, Johnson looking very much like a man who wants to run the country but doesn’t trust himself (or isn’t trusted) to make a half-decent case for himself on primetime BBC1.
If Boris Johnson isn’t prepared to go on TV and be asked proper grownup questions by a proper grownup interviewer for just 30 minutes, then he doesn’t deserve to be called Prime Minister. He deserves instead to be called a pile of cold giblets hiding in a PM costume.

Help is at hand, however, with this rather marvellous idea put forward by Richard Osman which surely we can all get behind.

It’s also Richard Osman’s birthday today – many happy returns! – and he asked his followers on Twitter to let him make a political point to celebrate.
I try not to tweet political opinions, but as it’s my birthday allow me just one. The Tories do want to sell off the NHS. Not in one go, just bit by bit until it’s unrecognisable. You’ll turn up one day and there will be a priority waiting room. They’ve always been open about it.

Thank you. I promise I’ll just tweet about Frazzles and ‘The Repair Shop’ for the rest of the year. 🤓
