Donald Trump’s bizarre denial of wrongdoing works perfectly as a Ramone’s song
The impeachment hearings of Donald Trump are marching inexorably towards an opportunity for a vote on whether to charge the President, after a series of startling accusations and revelations about his alleged attempt to effectively bribe Ukraine to smear an opponent. During one particularly troubling testimony, he gave this statement of denial to waiting press.
We’re not sure that quoting someone who claimed to be quoting you is actual proof of anything, but in Trump World, it was presented as though it were video footage of a cast-iron alibi in a mass-murder trial. Some people thought it sounded like a Ramone’s song, like Sarah Kendzior.
I keep reading his notes in the voice of Joey Ramone

It works better than we would have suspected, and was well worth the effort made by Alex Kliment, as these reactions show.
Best thing to come out of this presidency https://t.co/38LG5hbaQa

President Trump doesn’t deserve to be associated with anything this well executed. https://t.co/KPlHNpsILP

It even got the seal of approval from Blondie founder-member, Chris Stein.
