Donald Trump Jr compared soldiers who lost their lives to what he did to help his dad become president
In today’s episode of ‘Donald Trump Jr – what the hell?’ comes this excerpt from his book, catchily titled Triggered: how the Left Thrives on Hate and Wants to Silence Us.
In it, Donald Trump’s eldest son recalled a visit to Arlington National Cemetery the day before his father’s inauguration and his feelings as he looked out upon the graves of people who had made the ultimate sacrifice.
Here’s what he said, shared on Twitter by Robert Maguire.
In his new book, Don Jr writes about a visit to Arlington National Cemetery before his father’s inauguration and compares the sacrifice of the soldiers buried there to “all the sacrifices we’d have to make to help my father succeed.” https://t.co/CpgDtYdSD4 pic.twitter.com/gYOhlGsDWR

And just in cast that’s tricky to read, here’s what he had to say.
‘In that moment, I also thought of all the attacks we’d already suffered as a family, and about all the sacrifices we’d have to make to help my father succeed — voluntarily giving up a huge chunk of our business and all international deals to avoid the appearance that we were ‘profiting off of the office.’
‘Frankly, it was a big sacrifice, costing us millions and millions of dollars annually. Of course, we didn’t get any credit whatsoever from the mainstream media, which now does not surprise me at all.’

Eight men I served with are buried in Section 60 of Arlington. I visit them monthly. Even if Donald JR. lived a 1,000 years he will never even get close to being as good and honorable as they were. Sacrifice is only a word to the Trumps. https://t.co/47eIc9SBPg

Donald Trump Jr. can fuck right off. Comparing his silver spoon sucking existence to the ultimate sacrifice a citizen can make is offensive and incredibly disrespectful.
No veteran should ever stand next to him ever again. https://t.co/cphzPzIyoX

How can a person standing before rows of white crosses at Arlington Cemetery think of his own family sacrificing money and come to the conclusion his family’s sacrifice was worse? @DonaldJTrumpJr https://t.co/v2DMA9IHKN

A nation mourns its fallen soldiers, who paid the ultimate price for our freedom. And Junior? Well, Junior spies their solemn white graves from the back of his limousine, and he grieves for the inconveniences he overcame for his silver spoons. Quoth the Craven “Nevermore.” https://t.co/tPtr1d776l
