What began as a chilled selfie between a couple of sisters or friends rapidly became a bit of a nightmare, and the whole thing was caught on camera.

Full disclosure, some people think that’s a fake spider and a posed series of photos, so we zoomed in on the spider.

It didn’t help, so these are some of the arguments for and against, and you can make up your own minds.

Interesting that they’d move their heads in surprise but not the hand holding the camera.

Spiders don’t move most of the time. Their instinct is to freeze and defend if necessary. It’s not going to scutter up to them and try wrap them up for later.

Clearly staged. The girl just continues to hold her phone in the same position as she freaks out over a spider? Unlikely. Also, the spider doesn’t move a millimeter…
