Who better to give Bonfire Night tips than Horrible Histories’ Guy Fawkes?

“Remember, remember the fifth of November,
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot.”

It’s Bonfire Night, or Guy Fawkes Day, depending on where you grew up, but whatever you call it, it still involves fireworks, fire and sugary snacks – as well as the possible burning of an effigy of a Catholic plotter from the 17th century – the infamous Guy Fawkes.

Luckily, the amazing Horrible Histories gang have shared a highly relevant clip from one of their old shows, in which the very talented Mathew Baynton shows off his acting and accent skills as the doomed would-be king-killer. Not only does the clip include some vital safety tips, it fills you in on some of the history.

It must be good advice because it had one careful owner who didn’t even use it.
