This teacher had the perfect takedown of Boris Johnson’s ‘letterbox’ burqa jibe on Question Time
This Question Time audience member went viral with what she had to say about Boris Johnson’s ‘letterbox’ burqa jibe last night.
The politics teacher was talking to Tory MP Paul Scully. Make what you will of what he had to say in response.
“Why do we have a Prime Minister in power who goes against our values?”

‘If I’m teaching kids about tolerance of different faiths and mutual respect, that goes against our British values so why do we have a Prime Minister in power who goes against our values?
‘He has not yet apologised for those comments he made… It has led to an increase in race hate crime against women in burqas and the fact that my mother used to wear a burqa and she’s stopped wearing it because she feels unsafe … I don’t like the fact that we are supporting a Prime Minister who incites hatred.’
And here are a few of the things people had to say in response, beginning with Labour MP, David Lammmy.
This brave woman stands up for British values, even as the Prime Minister undermines them 🤜🏿pic.twitter.com/6MnzHcoPsZ

Look at the amount of people who don’t clap, I just despair sometimes.

I love this woman straight away, and given that most of these replies will probably be Islamophobic given most of the nutjobs here are right wing, her point will be proven just from this thread alone. Love her.
