There are fears that Pizza Express could fold and the entire internet made the same joke
The latest high street name in trouble is Pizza Express which is heading for a debt restructuring, sparking fears that it could follow Jamie’s Italian and disappear completely.
Pizza Express reportedly about to engage in talks with creditors. Last seen, had £1.6m of debt per restaurant. Not sustainable.

And it was a rare occasion, in these troubled times, when it united the nation. Not just in the affection that most people appear to have for the chain, but because the entire internet made the same joke.

If Pizza Express folds it will have to change its name to Calzone Express.

Going to be genuinely devastated if Pizza Express folds. And not just because that would make it Calzone Express.

It's funny you see, because a folded pizza is called a "calzone", and Pizza Express are… pic.twitter.com/ZGDOdfuOJP

Thank god I'd already told the kids we were having pizza for dinner tonight otherwise I was gonna be texting my better half with "Change of plan, after exposure to 1,057 Calzone Express jokes on Twitter I can only face one food tonight"

The Calzone/Pizza Express joke was very much a case of who got there first. You were not first. It’s too late to do it now

Thank goodness for this voice of reason.
if pizza express folds i don’t think they would change their name to calzone express because they would be out of business. there wouldn’t be anything to name.
