Back-in-the-limelight former Conservative MP, Rory Stewart, has been talking to the media ahead of the election to choose London’s next mayor, in which he will stand as an Independent. When Channel 4’s Cathy Newman asked about his favourite pub – yeah, we’ve no idea why either – this was his reply.

In an absence of anything more newsworthy, such as a second attempt to prorogue parliament, the PM seeming to be making two directly opposing statements about his plans, or another whistleblower implicating Trump in a potential treason case, Twitter had a lot to say about the Pret versus Pubs issue.

And writer Alex Clark had the answer.
