Eric Trump thought this Roman emperor was fictional and it tells you all you need to know

It’s safe to say that Eric Trump didn’t fall far from the tree. And he hit a few branches on the way down as well.

Here’s the President’s son paying moving tribute to his father in American newspaper The Hill which, well, see if you can spot the schoolboy error.

“To quote the great Marcus Aurelius from The Gladiator, ‘Your faults as a son are my failures as a father.’

“I owe all of my work ethic, character, integrity, and moral fibre to my father. Hunter Biden can say the same.”

And it’s not just adding a definite article to Gladiator that he’s got wrong.

Marcus Aurelius was a real person – he was Roman emperor between 161 and 180AD – a fictionalised version of whom was played by Richard Harris in the Russell Crowe movie, Gladiator.
