You haven’t seen overexcited until you’ve seen Twisty the bearded dragon
Bearded dragons are surprisingly popular pets, when you consider that they aren’t fluffy, won’t fetch a stick for you and can’t be taught to say “Who’s a pretty boy?” YouTuber and animal lover, Taylor Nicole Dean, shared some footage of what happened when she allowed her bearded dragon to get a taste of the outside world.
I have NEVER let my bearded dragon walk around outside before so I thought we’d try it in an enclosed area because he seemed to have some pent up energy. Yeah…..never again LMAOOO WHAT IS THIS MESS pic.twitter.com/I5eXC12bfo

Hmmm …as experiments go, that one went.
Some people had questions …
so i've heard of tegus doing this when they go outside for the first time because things look different in natural sunlight! maybe he freaked/got defensive because he turned around and didn't recognize you?

I dunno. I mean, is it cruel to keep these animals caged up?

You keep an animal caged up all day and in turn are surprised when he runs away at his first given opportunity to be free? Y’all goofy!!!

There was also some free advice.
He zoom! I think that's why some people do use harnesses lol

Get the little guy a pen to run around out side! We used to have an iguana that lived in the house. She was like a dog. Was a loving animal, loved to be petted and have her head stroked. She would close her eye and be in heaven. She liked people and was social. And beautiful. pic.twitter.com/F0rww6NMCI

And one commentator summed up Twisty’s reaction perfectly.
BRO HE WENT FAST & HE WAS FURIOUS

happily, Twisty’s dreams of the outdoor life aren’t over, as Taylor Nicole plans to give him another shot at freedom, but not so much of it next time.
Ok I’m gonna make a video of getting ur beardie to enjoy going outside bc after researching apparently this is very normal and they go sicko mode due to the sun making their natural instincts set in. But if u take it slow u can teach them how to enjoy walks!! I have a new mission
