The Daily Mail’s Bond photo caption screams everyday sexism – the only 6 reactions you need

The new Bond film, No Time to Die, is currently being filmed in Italy, with Daniel Craig once more playing Ian Fleming’s womanising spy, so it’s no surprise that shots of proceedings have been turning up in the media. Here’s a photo shared by that bastion of gender equality and fair play, the Daily Mail.

Initially, the caption read:

“Plenty to talk about: Craig was joined by a female assistant as he relaxed between takes on Tuesday.”

There was only one problem with that – the “female assistant” was, in fact, Barbara Broccoli, the producer of the Bond films. People – most notably women – spotted the error.

Some men dropped by to excuse the error, with this being typical of those sorts of responses.

But @the_dunners had the measure of them.

Director, Andreas Samuelson, demonstrated beautifully just how ignorant the caption was.

In case you were wondering, the caption is now this:

“Plenty to talk about: Craig was joined by Barbara Broccoli as he relaxed between takes on Tuesday.”
