Judges ruled Boris Johnson’s suspension of parliament unlawful – 17 favourite responses

Just when Boris Johnson thought his so-called premiership couldn’t get any worse, Scottish judges ruled that his controversial suspension of parliament was unlawful.

Lawyers acting for 75 opposition MPs and peers argued Johnson’s decision to suspend parliament was illegal and in breach of the constitution because it was designed to stifle parliamentary debate and action on Brexit.

Overturning an earlier ruling, the judges’ verdict will now be subject to a government appeal. While we wait for that, here are all our favourite responses so far.
