Someone reported David Lammy to the police and ended up totally schooled by the Labour MP
It started when Labour MP David Lammy said this about the prospect of so-called prime minister Boris Johnson shutting down Parliament to pass Brexit.
This constitutional outrage will spark civil disobedience and I for one will actively participate. https://t.co/nC7hZqROHX

‘This constitutional outrage will spark civil disobedience and I for one will actively participate.’
Lots of people liked it but lots of other people were less keen, including this guy – an editor/Brexiteer/wine enthusiast – who decided to report him to police.
So I've reported @DavidLammy to The @metpoliceuk for this Tweet.
He is inciting violence.
The crime reference number is:

Now there were lots of people happy to put him in his place, like this person.
Lord give me the confidence of a man reporting an MP to the police without looking up what “civil disobedience” means first.

Or this person.
The literal definition of civil disobedience is "non-violent refusal to obey a law".
Lammy suggests civil disobedience: literally non-violent.
There is, however, a offence of "wasting police time", and all the evidence I see suggests you just committed it. You absolute plum. https://t.co/kU513UPW3q

But no-one did it quite so well as Lammy himself.
Mr Jack please don’t be a muppet open a history book or if reading is a challenge google it. Civil disobedience has a long non violent tradition. Eg Suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst, leader of India’s independence movement Gandhi and civil rights campaigner Martin Luther King. https://t.co/nFy1duqnwL

Totally schooled. And just in case anyone’s still in any doubt.
Dear Samuel,
Civil disobedience is a form of non-violent protest practiced by Gandhi and Martin Luther King.
Bypassing parliament is a form of dictatorship practiced by Hitler.

Yes. Completely correct. Non-violent protest.

Or in 11 words …
Mate, you do realise that getting arrested is the point, right?
