People are sharing the food they thought was ‘posh’ as kids – even though it really, really isn’t
When you’re a child you tend to see things from a different perspective to when you’re an adult (and not just because you’re shorter).
We only mention this after someone called Hello Gillian on Twitter started a rather fabulous discussion about food. Here’s what she said.
What food did you think was really posh as a kid, even though it clearly isn't?
I'm still amazed that I can purchase Vienetta, Queen of Desserts, for only £1.50 from Iceland. Didn't they only sell it at Harrods?

Lucozade. Cos when I was little it came in a glass bottle with cellophane and was given only to poorly children who were bravely fighting the lurgy from beneath a quilt . When I was sick I got a glass of water, a dose of milk of magnesia and a bucket on the floor with zoflora.

I still can’t quite believe that I can just pop into Iceland and walk out with a Vienetta, a box of Cadbury’s Animal Biscuits and a prawn ring.

Findus crispy pancakes. Also KitKats … My bff just had a tin of KitKats in the kitchen that anyone could have whenever they wanted! As if they were normal biscuits

Just buying food out and about anywhere, as opposed to taking a packed lunch of squashed cheese sandwiches, apple juice cartons and krentenbol (a kind of Dutch tea cake). When I got the ferry with my husband for the first time and we had lunch at the buffet I thought it was wild.
