The moment a 1-year-old meets someone with the same limb difference will give you feelings

There’s no doubt that people like to see others like themselves, whether that’s through representation in the arts and media or simply in the world around them. While people are people, regardless of the exterior, for children who have a limb that didn’t develop in the usual way, it can have an isolating effect to never see others in the same situation.

The Lucky Fin Project – named after Nemo’s smaller fin in Finding nemo – works to support those with one or more affected limbs, and they brought one-year-old Joseph to meet Amy Siesel, whose arm is similarly developed to Joseph’s. Watch what happened when they met.

If that doesn’t bring a lump to your throat, there may be no hope for you.
