Someone called the police about mysterious “thief” symbols – and there was a big “but”

Conspiracy theories abound in these times of fake news and people denying stuff we saw and heard them say, so it’s no wonder that we’re becoming more suspicious. When one woman spotted an unusual chalk mark on the floor outside her house, it got her wondering about whether it could mean something troubling.

She posted her concerns to Facebook.

It only ramped up her suspicions.

Other people had spotted more of the same markings along the road.

The mysterious symbols worried her enough to alert the police, though it’s hard to imagine what they thought.

However, she should have held back a little longer, because someone had the answer, and it wasn’t a police matter.

At least they could tell the police to stand down. The conversation got mixed reactions.

It seems that the whole thing could have been sorted instantly, if only they’d asked this commenter.

Perhaps that chalk could have been put to better use.
