The inventor of the computer password died and these 9 responses are worth logging in for
Computer pioneer Fernando Corbato, who invented the idea of passwords to protect people’s accounts on their computer, has died at the age of 93.
Dr Corbato first developed the basic security measures to allow more than one person to use a computer, basically paving the way for the digital revolution as we know it today.
We imagine he was accustomed to the occasional password related joke or two (thousand) during his lifetime, so we hope it’s not an entirely terrible thing to share these.
