People love this Kiwi cricketer’s tweet after their heart-breaking World Cup final defeat to England
One of the many, many reasons why England’s cricket World Cup final win was so special was the response of the New Zealand players and the great spirit in which the whole game was played.
One of the New Zealand players, Jimmy Neesham, who came so close to giving his team victory in the deciding Super Over, took this spirit with him into Twitter and people loved him for it.
Kids, don’t take up sport. Take up baking or something. Die at 60 really fat and happy.

He doesn’t mean it. At least, we don’t think so. Here are 8 of our favourite things people said in response.

You guys inspired a lot of kids today and every day of this WC. It must really suck and be scant consolation but you won a lot of hearts.

You are literally one of the best things about watching and covering cricket. If kids take cues from you, the game’s future is in such good hands. Keep doing you 🙌🏿

And it’s not all Jimmy Neesham had to say.
That hurts. Hopefully there’s a day or two over the next decade where I don’t think about that last half hour. Congratulations @ECB_cricket , well deserved.

Thank you to all the supporters that came out today. We could hear you the whole way. Sorry we couldn’t deliver what you so badly wanted.
