This guy’s takedown of a viral tweet slagging off Halle Bailey’s Little Mermaid casting is 10/10
There appear to be quite a lot of people unhappy that American singer Halle Bailey, cast in the lead role of Disney’s live action Little Mermaid, is neither white nor red-headed.
And of all the angry people on Twitter, this one in particular went viral.
So a chap called Brandon Wall decided to do a little investigating and his deconstruction of the tweet is 10/10.
First he did this.
This viral tweet complaining about the Little Mermaid casting being racist has a profile pic stolen from an Instagram model. The “half black best friend” pic is taken from god knows where, but shows up in a bunch of Pinterest BFF roundups pic.twitter.com/aYMwKf1XNl

And then he did this (and this is our favourite bit).
One more: The pic of the Little Mermaid DVD the account tweeted came from this tiny YouTube unboxing channel, video was uploaded in 2016 https://t.co/eReuWRisa0 pic.twitter.com/qeR9qGpmne

And here’s a still from the vid.
And went even more viral than the original post.
And then this happened …
aaand 15 minutes later, I’m blocked 👀

Just one question remained …
Is that a random person doing mean things? Or is it a coordinated effort to incite social tension and division in the US? 🤔
