This group of Irish LGBT people attending their first Pride will have you in tears
With its strongly religious history, Ireland hasn’t traditionally been a great place to be a member of the LGBT community, so it’s understandable that some people grew up feeling isolated and confused. This video tells a little of a few people’s stories and shows how they reacted when they finally got a chance to be part of the parade.
Get your tissues ready – it’s an emotional rollercoaster.
For many, the road to Pride is a long one. This year, we were lucky enough to give some older members of Ireland’s LGBTQ+ the Pride they never had. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed being a part of it. #TheLongRoadToPride #DBPride pic.twitter.com/0UrZBhS0Tp

Wonderful film, so much to be proud about🏳️🌈
Sadly so many #LGBTQ+ rights still to fight for. Until there is equality, none of us are equal.

I’m sobbing. What these people and so many like them have had to go through simply isn’t fair. There is nothing “wrong” with them, they just love who they love, and I’m so glad they can finally celebrate and be proud of who they are 🌈#HappyPride #LoveisLove https://t.co/1yTYzueOCw
