There were some very funny (and occasionally serious) answers to Brian Cox’s flat earth challenge
Here’s Brian Cox posing a question for anyone who still believes the earth is flat.
I have a genuine question for any flat earthy-person in the northern hemisphere who still follows me – what is the flat-earthy-person explanation for the fact I’m standing in autumn? pic.twitter.com/8iEhnfiaeW

And his tweet from the other side of the world prompted lots of entertaining answers, mostly funny but occasionally far, far too serious.
Here are our favourites.

2.

You can tell it’s New Zealand because of the relaxed pose. Nothing is trying to kill you here, cf Australia where literally everything is. Even that dear innocent looking tree would be eying you up as a wee snacklet.

You appear to have managed to get to the underside of our flat planet. The illusion of trees without leaves is due to the scientific fact that those are the roots of trees growing on the topside of the planet which are protruding through the underside.

You are standing in autumn because walking on sunshine and dancing in the rain have already been done.

I believe they think it's when one of the 4 elephants carrying the flat earth sirs down for a rest thus tiliting the disc away from the sun… I believe renowned scientist Terry Prachett wrote a series of treatise on this.

We’re with this person.
I wish I was bright enough to understand the question, let alone answer it.
