Geoffrey Boycott’s been banging the drum for a no-deal Brexit – the only 5 replies you need
Here’s an opinion you probably didn’t need and almost definitely didn’t ask for – former England Test cricketer Geoffrey Boycott giving his take on Brexit on ITV’s Good Morning Britain.
Here’s what Good Morning Britain had to say about it (in a tweet that has since been deleted).
Piers Morgan lapped it up, and if you think that means everyone else thought it was bollocks, well, you might be right.
Here are the only 5 replies you need.

Boycott here, spouting guff about how we’ll be fine after Brexit cos ‘we’ fought 2 world wars. Old people who didn’t fight in either war but have a mad fetish for national suffering are the worst. Selfish baby boomers who want to risk young people’s lives https://t.co/dGfEi5gSMT

Geoffrey Boycott was born in 1940 and has fought in precisely zero (0) world wars

Geoffrey Boycott was born in October 1940, so his primary contribution to the war effort was repeatedly pissing and shitting himself.

Mind you – good job Geoffrey Boycott wasn't in the trenches. He'd have run everyone out.

"We don't need a deal, we won the war!" bellows Geoffrey Boycott, trying to orate a stirring battle cry but, in reality, offering a point so devoid of relevance it will only appeal to the vacuous and slow of thought.
So obviously Piers Morgan liked it.https://t.co/wyGcEWKVrm

It’s probably not surprising the tweet’s been deleted (especially the bit about the ‘keys to number 10’ given that programmes like GMB are supposed to be, you know, impartial).
If Geoffrey Boycott wants to come out with this stuff then so be it. It’s a view. But the fact you lot don’t seem to think it’s your role to challenge it, rather than lionise and applaud it, is just beyond all levels of woeful.

For an alternative point of view from someone who, unlike Boycott, actually fought in the war, Jim Felton shared this.

To conclude …
This baby just told ITV “if we survived 2 world wars we can survive Brexit” pic.twitter.com/iJOrcnHa2A
