9 perfect takedowns of the Brexiter who thinks Michael Gove is part of a Remainer plot
Right-wing commentator, Melanie Phillips, has been listening to rumours in the Brexit camp, where they clearly have nothing better to do, such as finding a way to keep an open border in Ireland, or ensure medicines with short shelf-lives won’t be sitting in a port for days. This is what she’s gleaned from her networking.
As Rory Stewart is revealed plotting with Gove: 'My sources tell me that Michael Gove is the favoured Trojan Horse of civil servants who wish to keep a Brexiteer out of Number 10' https://t.co/58OgJA6eZJ

It hardly seems worth her time, since there’s a glaring problem with her theory.
Michael Gove literally ran the Leave campaign https://t.co/DCWxgHqzXy

That makes it very unlikely that he would be part of a Remainer plot to keep a Brexiter out of Number 10, doesn’t it, Melanie?
Here are some well-earned criticisms of her tweet.
1.
If you are not currently swimming through the North Atlantic clutching a rope tied to Big Ben in your teeth to physically tow the UK out of Europe, then you sir are a filthy Remainer and I would have nothing to do with you. https://t.co/Yh1fkhRH73

He ran the official leave campaign. Short of ripping off his trousers and revealing a tattoo of Nigel Farage on his bellend how much more brexity can he get?

A private education will get you many things but apparently the ability to remember that Gove led Vote Leave is not one of those things. I'd be asking for my money back if I was the parents. https://t.co/0Lvq7lxBgO

2005: Eurosceptics would chew their own arms off to get Norway status for the UK.
2019: The co-leader of the Brexit campaign isn't a real Brexiteer. https://t.co/USRkM6ZgQK

History calling! Michael Gove was the first major cabinet minister to join the Leave campaign. Without him, Boris would never have switched sides. He and David Cameron massively fell out over it. If he hadn't, it is highly likely the referendum could have gone the other way. https://t.co/MZ0tEmPXsZ

Wow, if Gove is no longer counted among the Brexiteers, the revolution really is devouring its own children. Only the civil servants will be left.

Again this stuff about Michael Gove not being a Brexiteer. If Michael isn’t a Brexiteer, my friends, you didn’t win a majority. https://t.co/61D8NkJRL9

Any day now, she’ll be telling us Nigel Farage is a spy for the EU.
