Rory Bremner’s Boris Johnson speech is so much better than the real thing
Boris Johnson officially launched his leadership bid today with a speech and a press Q&A, in which he answered precisely zero out of six questions. However, before he’d said a word, the absolutely brilliant Rory Bremner had tweeted out his own prediction for how the speech would go, and it captured the essence perfectly.

With its snippet of irrelevant Latin, a smattering of xenophobia and a delivery with all the smoothness of a man eating a yoghurt on a rollercoaster, it’s the embodiment of Boris Johnson, and all delivered in a carbon copy of the MP’s voice.
Here are some of the many admiring comments it’s picked up.
Hilariously scary! Oh @rorybremner we need you. https://t.co/LaN4eCgnx0

One Twitter user had a worryingly astute observation.
When satire is indistinguishable from the lunacy it's satirising, you know you're in trouble.
Brilliant from Mr Bremner. https://t.co/oB6Lkh2FMn
