Boris Johnson was described as a “real feminist” – the only five reactions you need
In the battle to win votes, Tory leadership hopefuls have mostly been setting out their stalls in terms of Brexit, but Boris Johnson has gained an unexpected advantage in the clamour to secure the support of women. Having recently described himself as a feminist, he gained an endorsement from a woman who actually is one.
Great article by @NimkoAli – Why am I backing Boris? Because he's a real feminist https://t.co/qGWlSmgWTd via @Telegraph

The incredible campaigner against female genital mutilation, Nimko Ali, may have been won over by Boris Johnson’s attitude to the topic, but other people had a difficult time buying into her interpretation.
Interesting thought experiment: if Boris Johnson is a ‘feminist’ what name would British press give to a woman who was running for Tory leadership who’d had 2 children by 2 different men while married to a third man who she left for a fourth man, 24 years her junior? https://t.co/FQNP0iDkkS

If Boris is a feminist then Katie Hopkins must be the next diversity counsellor for Dover pic.twitter.com/0u9aEOm16F

Boris Johnson is as much a “real” “feminist” as I am a “white” “horse”.

Of all the takes I wasn’t prepared for today, ‘I’m backing Boris cos he’s a feminist’ has been the most bizarre.

What’s this I hear about you being used by that lying charlatan @BorisJohnson to pretend he is not a lying charlatan with the values of a snake? Sorry to be unkind to snakes

Boris Johnson’s Tory colleague, Nadine Dorries, rubber stamped the article’s sentiment.
A fabulous article by @NimkoAli which sets out why every woman should know, @BorisJohnson is on her side.

Lecturer and union rep, Mary-Ellen, came up with a very current explanation for Dorries’ position.
Boris Johnson a feminist! I think this tweet is proof that there is an epdemic of drug use in the Tory Party. #ToryDrugOff https://t.co/6DgyrhseZL

Which would also explain why the Government seems to have gone to pot.
