Five solid takedowns of Nigel Farage over what he said about D-Day
Thursday saw some very moving commemorations of D-Day, 75 years after it took place. As European leaders and veterans of the campaign came together to remember the sacrifice made by so many at that time, Nigel Farage tweeted his own tribute.
Powerful and emotional coverage of D-Day on this 75th anniversary. Today is a great tribute to our British Canadian and American veterans. Liberty and democracy must always win.

It seemed to some that his remark might be tinged with hypocrisy. These people had some thoughts:

Fair play to Farage here. His side lost but he hasn’t held a grudge. https://t.co/JGuckerL67

Liberty is not selling off Britain to the lowest bidder. Democracy is not creating a one man party that doesn't allow members or have an NEC https://t.co/rIUwbJwi6M

Someone named @mollyluna11 had a message for Farage regarding her dad.
Here's a thing.
My dad was at D-Day.
He was also in North Africa & Italy.
He was mentioned in despatches.
He was injured out.He loved Europe, he loved the EU, he worked in EU, he loved Peace.
He would despise you and everything you stand for.
Now he would be fighting you.— mollymoo (the beep snark beep is here to stay). (@mollyluna11) June 6, 2019
