Line of Duty creator Jed Mercurio had a very NSFW response to a Sun story he said wasn’t true
Everyone’s excited about the Line of Duty finale and can’t wait to find out what happens. After that, of course, speculation begins whether there will be a series 6 of the BBC1 show or maybe, you know, a series 7.
The Sun said it had the inside track on this, and a new deal for one of its stars, Martin Compston.
It said the show’s creator and writer Jed Mercurio was already writing a follow-up and was ‘desperate’ to keep Compston.
Some telly types prefer to stay out of the spotlight. Not Mercurio, however – he also wrote the Bodyguard and a load of other fantastic stuff – who had this swift and just a tiny bit NSFW rebuke for the Sun and the story’s writer.
And this is exactly what people made of that.
Don’t sugar it up Jed…say what you really mean. x
