A right-wing vlogger made a dubious claim and got roasted – 11 sceptical responses
If you haven’t heard of Paul Joseph Watson, I want your life; if you have heard of him, you’ll know he posts YouTube videos, filmed standing in front of a map of the world, and believes – or starts – a lot of right-wing conspiracy theories. He was once famously schooled by a historian when he claimed there would have been no people of colour in Roman Britain.
You should also know that he advertises products for the alt-right organisation, Breitbart – including Brain Force Plus, the pills to turn you into a genius. His latest self-own happened when he made this claim:
In a pub. My mate literally just said the word “Breitbart” and the leftist on the next table bolted, screaming as he left. Never seen a triggering so instantaneous.

Sounds convincing. Perhaps he needs to neck a few more of his own pills.
Anyway, it was the kind of opportunity Twitter just couldn’t ignore.

It's a true story. I know because I was the leftist sitting there enjoying a soy cocktail when badass right wingers triggered the fuck out of me by saying "breitbart"

The idea that this whopper even has a friend makes the *rest* of this tall tale seem almost plausible by comparison. https://t.co/AKcNNTcTKS

multiverse theories hold that, with infinite possibilities, there is indeed a universe where this happened. it's not this one though https://t.co/h0gW9r3BD1

The biggest tell that this didn't happen is that it requires you to believe PrisonPlanetPaul 1. has a friend and 2. left his apartment https://t.co/1VM1hQHtKp

Could've been worse. Could've actually happened.

“A person near us in a pub found us completely fucking obnoxious and wanted to relocate to not have to hear us have obnoxious shitbag discussions, and I have constructed some fan fiction about it to fit my preferred narrative.” Incredible self-own.

However, Twitter user, Mark, had an argument in support of @PrisonPlant’s tweet.
a lot of people saying this is made up but if i realized i was in a bar with prison paul i would do this https://t.co/ddTPKsXrbY

That seems pretty feasible, actually.
