Mark Francois threatened the EU with Perfidious Albion and got owned – 18 hilarious reactions
Like the gift that keeps on giving, Brexiter and ERG genius, Mark Francois – henceforth to be known as “him again!” – has once more opened his mouth to change feet. His latest gaffe was this strident warning to the EU.
"If you now try to hold us in against our will, you will be facing Perfidious Albion on speed."

“If you now try to hold us in against our will you will be facing perfidious Albion on speed.”
Whilst that sounded like fighting talk, it had a lot of people baffled, as “perfidious Albion” is a term of French origin – ironic – used as a derogatory term for acts of treachery and bad faith by England in the context of international diplomacy.
The reaction was both swift and scathing.

As you go up the ERG, it seems, you come across less and less personality, and more and more persona. But presently, I think Mark Francois with this inside, and sadly also outside, voice of "take-no-prisoners British maverick cunt" is staging a persona coup on Jacob Rees-Mogg. https://t.co/S71holn3AT

ERG have told EU it will regret letting 'Perfidious Albion' remain in EU beyond Friday – these morons clearly don't realise what 'perfidious Albion' means. It's a pejorative term. It's like Francois saying: 'You'll regret inviting that oddball creep Mark Francois to your party'.
