Theresa May made another speech and it went down as well as you’d expect – 18 underwhelmed reactions
Theresa May’s speeches are becoming horribly frequent, and she’s yet to make one that didn’t immediately call down a torrent of ridicule. On Tuesday evening, after a cabinet meeting that took seven hours, she came out and said
“We didn’t come up with a workable plan so I’m drafting in Jeremy Corbyn so he gets some of the blame when it goes tits up.”
Or words to that effect.
This is the actual speech, should you wish to put yourself through that …

But you could just read the best reactions, if you like.
We learnt that the MPs involved had been deprived of their phones and kept in a room, to avoid leaks.
It is a no-phone Brexit. PM is not letting ministers have their phones back, even though seven-hour Cabinet meeting is now over. Her colleagues have been locked in a Downing Street cupboard, until the PM has decided what they decided.

imagine having a cabinet so undisciplined you have to ban them from bringing their phones to meetings…

Just the Prime Minister of the actual country keeping her Cabinet under house arrest until she's decided what to say. No biggie.

Wondering if Theresa May's gone a bit…David Koresh.

It’s fair to say that people had low expectations of the speech.
Theresa May’s fucking lectern of gaslighting is about to make another appearance…

Theresa May set to give a statement. Excited to see which group of people she’s going ineptly to insult.

Well Theresa May is giving another statement then, which is great news as these things never go badly.

I sense Theresa is about to snatch defeat from the jaws of defeat.
